A good friend of mine gave me a Cine-Kodak B-16 editing machine last summer...and there was a big, chunky reel of 16mm footage from the late 40's or early 50's. It looks like home movies...but with pith helmets, high ball glasses, and ocean liners.
So I did some research and figured out that the footage on the editing machine was a wealthy someone's vacation photos to Bermuda from the early 50's? And the hotel is still there...yes!
And the Queen of Burmuda was commissioned to transport troops during WWII.
And some interesting history, more dealing with the transportation shift from horse and buggy/ bicycles to private car ownership after WWII.
